Thesis Title: Sexual conflict and the evolution of accessory gland proteins
Research Summary:
I am broadly interested in evolutionary conflicts of interest and their resolution. I use theory and empirical work to look at parental care, parent-offspring conflict, sibling rivalry and postcopulatory mate choice. My current work is in sexual conflict and the evolution of male accessory gland proteins in insects. I am using the ladybird beetle Harmonia axyridis and the water strider Gerris buenoi as systems.
Keywords: Coccinellidae, trophic eggs, sibling cannibalism, Harmonia axyridis, water striders
